Recently, if you’ve read my most recent blog post you will already know this, I did a makeup declutter. I basically cleared out a few products that were super old or that I didn’t use. However, I did clear a few products out that I really disliked, but kept trying to make work. After so long I guess you just have to give it up, so I thought I would put my ramblings into a post and explain what I just haven’t been loving lately.
Collection Sheer Loose Powder – Translucent
I wanted to love this product so bad. Finding a drugstore loose powder is the ultimate challenge, and so far I have only managed to find one that I love. This is the cheapest one that I have found, and for this reason I really wanted to like it. But I just don’t. I find that it oxidises so badly throughout the day and just seems way too orange for my pale ass skin tone. If you have a more ivory complexion then you will probably get along with this, but for me it was a huge no.
W7 Honolulu Bronzer
This is a bronzer that I have had in my collection for a really long time, but never ever reach for. This just does not do anything for me at all, other than make me look super muddy and weird. I find that, for me, this is not a flattering shade of bronzer. It’s supposed to be a dupe for the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, but in both shade and formula I don’t think it’s anywhere near a dupe. Again, not one I would recommend for my fellow pale gals.
Kiko Single Shadow – Slate Grey
This might have been in my collection for two years or so, and I have just never loved it. I find that it is super difficult to blend, and way too shimmery with not a great deal of pigment. Kiko have since re-formulated their eyeshadows, and I have loved a couple of their High Pigment eyeshadows so I’m definitely not put off. This is just one product that did not work for me.
Too Faced Melted Metallic – Dream House
I was so excited to give this a try, but this just did not work for me one bit. I found it way too sheer, with barely any pigment whatsoever, and any pigment that there was clung to my lips in the most unflattering way. Not a fan in the slightest.
So that concludes what I haven’t been loving lately. What haven’t you been loving? Let me know.
Lots of love,
