Weekend Mini Break

So this weekend was a particularly unusual weekend for me.  Me and my family went away to stay in a log cabin for the weekend at Sherwood Forest, as a little treat because we haven’t been away together in over a year.  It was the most luxurious retreat I think I have ever had and we’ve already booked to go there again in 2018.

We arrived at the cabin on Friday afternoon, and then spent the rest of the evening exploring, tasting the local cider and relaxing in the hot tub.  Saturday was a shopping day, and we went to Nottingham for the day. I love Nottingham, and me and my family go shopping there a lot so it brings back a lot of lovely memories. We had a pub lunch, and I opted for a jacket potato and a cheeky dinnertime cocktail.

On Sunday, we went for a walk around Sherwood Forest.  As a child, I went to Sherwood with my grandparents so many times so it was really nice to reminisce.  There is a tiny outlet next door to the forest filled with little independent shops, and I picked up a few bath products which I already feel will probably feature in my May favourites.

Monday, today, has only been a half day as we had to check out of the cabin at mid-day.  We spent the majority of the morning in the hot tub, making the most of the time that we had left, and then packed up our things for the journey home. It’s only half an hour away from where we live, so driving home with all our things and also three dogs sharing the backseat with me wasn’t too much of a chore.

All in all, it was the most wonderful weekend. One of my goals for 2017 has been to spend more time with my family, and that is something that I am loving doing. My parents are the most precious people, and it was amazing to have a relaxing break with them.  (P.S how amazing is the hot chocolate that my dad made for me because room service didn’t deliver hot drinks?!)

This is much more of a lifestyle post than what I usually blog, but I hope that you enjoyed it all the same.

Lots of love,

Beth xx
