I am a self-confessed highlighter junkie. Anything that is going to make my cheekbones blinding is going to get my vote. However, with more or less every single brand bringing out their variation of a highlighter, I thought I would list a few of my favourites that were worth every single penny.
Although a relatively new addition to my collection, this highlighter has quickly proven itself to be one of the best highlighters I own. Retailing for £25.50, it is both beautiful and blinding, and never shows up too dark on my ghostly skin tone. Usually a highlight that I save for a night out, with a big enough pan to guarantee that the product is going to last me for years.
Again, another beautiful highlighter. The retails at £3.00 and for the price the quality is incredible, so much so that it rivals some of my high end highlights. A beautiful colour that swatches as an icy gold. Perfect for the cheekbones and for the inner corners too. Definitely a must have for any highlighter junkie, and such a bargain.
Another slightly pricey product at £24.50 but worth every single penny. This one is a slightly controversial one, as many people say that it isn’t intended for paler skin tones. However, I beg to differ. It does show up a little more than other highlighters, and definitely isn’t for the faint hearted but it just adds a glow to your face. So beautiful, and very versatile.
I feel like this highlighter is definitely a cult classic. This was the first high end highlighter that I purchased, and as you can see I long ago hit pan. This is the perfect champagne shade, and is blinding whilst managing to still look natural. Priced at £20.00, there is a reason why this product is a cult classic and also the reason why I have a spare lined up for when this one eventually dies.
I don’t think that I have ever come across a palette quite as under-rated as this one. I have only hear a handful of people discuss this palette, and it is truly my favourite palette to highlight with. If you’re slightly extra like me, you will adore these colours. If I were to recommend any product to you, it would be this one and I would not be able to live without it. The silver shade is a cream highlight, and the other three shades powder highlights.
This is a beautiful product. Priced at £4.95 there is no excuse to give this a miss. Although they create a beautiful colour when used together, that is not my favourite way to use this highlighter. When wearing a particularly extra eye make-up look, there is a highlight shade for your inner corner to go with every look. If you’re extra like me, and just like pretty, slightly abnormal, highlighter shades this is definitely one to look out for.
So there you have it. As a serial highlighter hoarder, those are my top picks of my current favourite blinding shades. I hope this post has persuaded you to buy another highlighter you probably don’t need.
Lots of love,
