Beauty Haul

As you are all probably aware, I am self confessed makeup addict.  Usually, I spend the January sales in Meadowhall, fighting with all the other makeup junkies to grab some new beauty bits to try.  However, this year, I have been working so much that I have had very little time to do that.  So instead of hitting the shops, I decided to do all my beauty shopping online instead.  I thought I would take a moment to show you what I picked up.

Jeffree Star Skin Frost – Ice Cold

First up was the elusive Jeffree Star Skin Frost.  Now, I had been eyeing this up for a long time but every time I went on Beauty Bay to purchase it, they never had my shade in.  From looking at my photos I am sure that you can tell that I am basically so pale that I reflect light – therefore, it was understandable why I needed the palest shade available, Ice Cold.  Needless to say, it did not disappoint.  It has the biggest pan out of any highlighter I have ever seen and it’s literally just the most beautiful colour.  I keep taking it out of my drawer just to stare at it. Obsessed.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick – Chrysanthemum

Next up, another one from Jeffree Star.  This time, it’s a liquid lipstick from the Holiday collection.  It took me a long time to choose this shade on the website.  For the first time ever, there were loads of shades in stock which meant that it was a big decision making process.  I eventually settled happily for the shade Chrysanthemum which is a pale nude with glitter running through it.  I live and breathe glitter so this was basically the deciding factor for me. Extremely worth the money and the headache of choosing a shade.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish – Lightscapade

This next purchase was one I just could not resist.  I have such a love for anything glittery to put on my cheekbones.  Because Soft and Gentle is one of my all time favourite highlighters (I love a good golden glow), I thought I would check out others in the collection.  I was a little worried that I wouldn’t find anything to match my skin tone, as I’m extremely pale but I saw this one and I could not resist.  It’s not highlighty (lets pretend that this is now a word) to the point of leaving a white stripe on your face but it does give a pale, sheer glow that makes you look almost lit from within.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation Light- Y205 Albaster

Final purchase that I have to show you, and maybe the most risky. Ordering foundation online is always a little bit of a risky business because you can’t shade match.  You’re basically relying on the image on the website.  Because my face is naturally quite red-toned, I tend to opt for a yellow based foundation and I found that Make Up For Ever had a surprisingly large shade selection for paler skin.  After having tried this a few times, I would class it as a medium/full coverage foundation but it is definitely buildable and you can build a few layers without it looking cakey.  Definitely worth the small fortune that I spent on it.

So there you have it, the reason why my bank account is currently crying out in pain.  As much as I try to put myself on a makeup ban, I never can stick to it because it’s all just so pretty.  Treat Yo’ Self.

Lots of love,

Beth x
